MONTEREY
COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled
road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey
County from Sunday, May 5, through Sunday,
May 12, 2013– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is
weather-dependent.
Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project: May 5 –
May 10
- Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 10.
- There will be no night work or overnight closures next week—from Sunday, May 5 through Friday, May 9.
Work next week will consist of removing the
deck forms and placing the viaduct metal barrier.
Highway 1 at Rocky Creek has
one-way signalized traffic control 24/7. Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes
at a time during daytime roadwork.
Highway 1/ Anderson Canyon Bridge: May 6 – May 9
- Crews will be repairing pavement between Anderson Canyon Bridge and Castro Canyon Bridge between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
Highway 1/ Lime Creek Bridge:
May 6 – May 10
- Crews will be conducting shoulder work between Lime Creek Bridge and Burns Creek Bridge between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
Highway 1 at Carmel:
May 8 – May 9
- Crews will be conducting pavement work between Rio Road and Ocean Ave. between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 to 10 minutes
Highway 101 at King City: May 8
- Crews will be conducting bridge work between Broadway and Jolon Road between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
Highway 101 at Sanborn Street: May 6
- Crews will be conducting survey work between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 8 minutes
San Juan Road Interchange – Rocks/Cannon Road to Dunbarton:
May 6 – May 10
- Highway construction between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., from Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.
Highway 183 in Castroville: May 6 – May 10
- Daytime work on Highway 183 in Castroville between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. from Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10.
- Crews will be conducting electrical work
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
*Upcoming Closures for Blackie Road Safety Improvement Project*
- Roadway construction between Borromeo Drive to approximately one mile west of Borromeo Drive going to Castroville from May 13 to September 13
- Blackie Road will be open to emergency vehicles, school buses, local residents and patrons of local businesses
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 30 minutes.
