CONSTRUCTION WORK TO CLOSE SAN JUAN ROAD AT HIGHWAY 101 FOR 4 CONTINUOUS DAYS OCTOBER 6 – 10

CONSTRUCTION WORK TO CLOSE SAN JUAN ROAD AT HIGHWAY 101 FOR 4 CONTINUOUS DAYS OCTOBER 6 – 10

MONTEREY COUNTY – Caltrans and Granite Construction company will temporarily close access to and from U.S. Highway 101 and San Juan Road for four continuous days on Monday, October 6, beginning at midnight; the access will reopen at 4:00 a.m. Friday, October 10.  

The closure is needed for crews to connect San Juan Road to the new San Juan Road Interchange.

During this continuous closure there will be:
·         No right turn from southbound Highway 101 on to San Juan Road
·         No right turn from San Juan Road on to southbound Highway 101
·         No left turn from San Juan Road to northbound Highway 101

·         Southbound Highway 101 traffic will be able to access San Juan Road via the following detour:
o   Exit Highway 101 at San Miguel Canyon Road
o   Turn left on the San Miguel Canyon Road Overcrossing to northbound Highway 101.
o   Turn left across Highway 101 onto Dunbarton Road.
o   Turn left onto San Juan Road.

·         Northbound San Juan Road traffic will be able to access Highway 101 via the following detour:
o   Turn Right onto Dunbarton Road.
o   Turn right onto southbound Highway 101.
o   Exit Highway 101 at San Miguel Canyon Road
o   Turn left on the San Miguel Canyon Road Overcrossing to northbound Highway 101.

·         Access closes at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6
·         Access reopens at 4 a.m. on Friday, October 10.
·         Motorists are advised to expect some delays and be aware of cross-traffic at Dunbarton Rd.
