Salinas: East Alisal Street—Skyway Boulevard
Roundabout Project
The City of Salinas has contracted with Anderson Pacific Engineering
Construction, Inc. to construct the first modern roundabout in Salinas, located
at the intersection of East Alisal Street and Skyway Boulevard, adjacent to Firehouse
Recreation Center and Fairways Golf Course, and roughly 0.6 miles north of the
Salinas Municipal Airport.
Work within the intersection necessitates re-routing traffic during
the 2.5-month construction period. The
project is currently on schedule, with the intent of having an operational
intersection before the California International Airshow at the Salinas
Municipal Airport on September 26 and 27, 2015.
Motorists are encouraged to re-route around the area, or be detoured
around the intersection, resulting in 5 to 10-minute delays, depending upon the
time of day.
