Here
are the major scheduled road and
lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday,
December 22, through Sunday, December 29, 2013 – newest information is in
red.
Please
keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.
Highway 1 – Near Lucia:
Dec. 23 (tentative)
- Crews will begin the
installation of a temporary traffic signal and guardrail on Highway 1,
just north of Big Creek Bridge near Lucia on Monday, Dec. 23.
- There will be one-way flagging
control from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2
p.m. on Fridays.
- The installation could take up to
three weeks to complete.
- Once the temporary guardrail and
traffic signal are installed, the roadway will have signalized reversing
one-way traffic control 24 hours per day.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 1 – Big Sur: Dec. 23, 26, and 27
- Daytime drainage work along
Highway 1 between Lime Creek Bridge and Garrapata Creek Bridge from 8:45
a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- No work will be conducted on
Dec. 24 or 25.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 68 – Salinas:
Dec. 23
- Daytime tree work on eastbound
Highway 68 between Reservation Road and Salinas River Bridge from 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m.

will be closed in observance of winter recess December 23, 2013 through
December 30, 2013.
