Here
are the major scheduled road and
lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday,
December 8, through Sunday, December 15, 2013 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is
weather-dependent.
Highway 1 – Big Sur: Dec. 9 – Dec. 12

Four days of bridge
inspections between Willow Springs and Big Sur at the following locations:
o Monday: Little Sur River Bridge (four miles south of Rocky Creek
Bridge).
o Tuesday: Big Creek Bridge (five miles north of Lucia) Lime Creek Bridge, (south of the Esalen
Institute.
o Wednesday: Lime Creek Bridge (if not completed on Tuesday). Dolan
Creek Bridge (just south of Lime Creek Bridge, eight miles north of Lucia). Vicente Creek Bridge (three miles north
of Lucia).
o Thursday: Wild Cattle Creek
Bridge (four miles south of Limekiln/Pitkins). Kirk Creek Bridge (two miles
south of Limekiln/Pitkins).

Roadwork hours are
from 8 am to 2:30 pm and will include one-way reversing traffic control with
flaggers.

Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
Highway 1 – Big Sur Coast:
Dec. 9 – Dec. 13
- Daytime drainage work along
Highway 1 between the Rocky Creek Viaduct and Lime Creek Bridge from 8:45
a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 1 – Monterey: Dec.

- Daytime tree work on the northbound
Highway 1 Fremont Street off ramp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.
Highway 1 – Seaside: Dec.
10 – Dec. 11
- Daytime bridge work on southbound
Highway 1 between Route 218 and Tioga Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 68 – Salinas:
Dec. 9 – Dec. 13
- Daytime utility work on
eastbound Highway 68 between San Joaquin Street and San Miguel Avenue from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.
Highway 101 – Greenfield to Soledad: Dec. 10 – Dec. 12
· Daytime drilling
work on Highway 101 between Hudson Road and Arroyo Seco Road from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 101 – Gonzales and Soledad: Dec. 9 – Dec. 13
- Daytime paving, drainage, and
electrical work on Highway 101 from La Gloria Road to Arroyo Seco Road will result in alternating lane
closures—northbound and southbound—between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Night time paving on Highway
101 from La Gloria Road to Arroyo
Seco Road will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and
southbound—between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 101 – Salinas:
Dec. 10 – Dec. 12
- Daytime paving work on the
southbound Highway 101 East Market Street off ramp from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.
Prunedale Improvement Project – San Miguel Canyon Road: Dec. 10 – Dec. 13
- Daytime survey work will close
the number one (slow) lane of northbound Highway 101 between Messick Road
South and Tustin Road between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15
minutes.
- Nighttime drainage work
continues on Highway 101 between and San Miguel Canyon Road and Messick
Road North with alternating lane closures from 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 156 – Prunedale:
Dec. 10 – Dec. 12
- Daytime paving work on Highway
156 between Cathedral Oak Road and Simonville from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
