are the major scheduled road and
lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday,
October 6, through Sunday, October 13, 2013 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is
weather-dependent.
Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project: Oct. 6 – Oct. 11.
- Daytime
roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct.
7 through Friday, Oct. 11.
- There
will be NO OVERNIGHT CLOSURES OR NIGHT ROADWORK next week, Sunday, Oct. 6
through Thursday, Oct. 10.
- SPECIAL ADVANCE NOTIFICATION: THERE WILL BE FOUR, FULL OVERNIGHT CLOSURES, FROM 11 PM TO 7 AM, STARTING MONDAY, OCT. 14 THROUGH THURSDAY, OCT. 17 (OPENING FRIDAY MORNING) TO REMOVE THE VIADUCT FALSEWORK.
Highway 1 at Rocky Creek has
one-way signalized traffic control 24/7. Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes
at a time during daytime and nighttime roadwork.
Highway 1 – South Big Sur Coast: Oct. 7 – Oct. 11
- Daytime drainage and survey on
Highway 1 between Rain Rock and Pfeiffer Burns State Park from 8:45 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 1 – Palo Colorado:
Oct. 10
- A one-day slop clearing
operation on Highway 1 between Palo Colorado and Garrapata Ridge Road from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 25 minutes.
Highway 1 – Monterey: Oct.
8 – Oct. 11
- Daytime pavement work on
Highway 1 On/off ramps at three locations:
- Northbound Highway. 1, Casa
Verde Off-ramp in Monterey on:
- Tuesday,
Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- #2
(slow) lane closed from 9 am to 1 pm to ensure worker safety.
- Northbound Highway. 1, Casa
Verde On-ramp in Monterey on:
- Wednesday,
Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Southbound Fremont St. to Highway. 1 Southbound On-ramp (near the State Route 68 connector) in Monterey on:

Friday,
Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Partial
lane closure of ramp, traffic delineated on Southbound Fremont St. to Highway.
1 Southbound On-ramp.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.
Highway 1 – Monterey:
Oct. 6 – End of November
- Night time pavement work on 12
on/off-ramps along Highway. 1 from State Route 68 (East) to State Route 68
(West) begins Sunday, Oct. 6.
- On/off ramps to be paved
include:
- State
Route 68 (west), both directions;
- Munras
Ave., both directions;
- Soledad
Dr.,both directions;
- Aguajito
Rd, both directions;
- Southbound
State Route 68 off-ramp at Fremont St.
- Overnight work hours and ramp
closures will occur Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 20 minutes.
Highway 218 / Highway 1 – Seaside: Oct. 10
- One-day pavement work on the southbound
Highway. 218 On-ramp in Seaside on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.
Highway 101 – Gonzales and Soledad: Oct. 6 – Oct. 11
- Daytime drainage and electrical
work on Highway 101 from La Gloria Road to Arroyo
Seco Road will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between
4 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Night time paving Highway 101
from La Gloria Road to Arroyo
Seco Road will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and
southbound—between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 101 – Chualar: Oct. 7
- One-day drainage work on northbound
Highway 101 between Payson Rd/Grant St and Somavia Road from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 101 – Salinas to Santa Clara County: Oct. 7
- Night time pavement marker
replacement on Highway 101 between Airport Blvd and the Santa Clara County
Line from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Prunedale Improvement Project – Multiple Locations: Oct. 6 – Oct. 11
- Nighttime median barrier and
pavement work on Highway 101 in Prunedale will result in alternating lane
closures—northbound and southbound—between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Locations are:
- Ralph Lane to Pesante Road
- Vierra Canyon Road to San Miguel Canyon Road
- Mallory Canyon Road to Echo Valley Road
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
San Juan Road Project: Oct. 6 –
Oct. 11
- Daytime construction work will
temporarily close access to San Juan Road between Highway 101 and Dunbarton
Road Oct. 8 and 9.
- Motorists should detour to
Dunbarton Road or San Miguel Canyon Road.
- Night work on Highway 101,
between San Juan Road and Cole Road, will result in lane closures between
the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., from Monday, October 7, to Friday,
October 11.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 198: Oct. 7–
Oct. 11
- Daytime pavement repair on
Highway 198 between Freeman Flat Road and Pine Vally Road from 8 a.m. to 3:30
p.m.
- Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10
minutes.
