Road and lane closures for Jan 6 - 13

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, January 6, through Sunday, January 13, 2013– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project:  Jan. 7 – Jan. 11

·         Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week, from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, Jan. 7, through Friday, Jan. 11. 

·         Overnight closures continue from Sunday, Jan. 6 through Thursday, Jan. 10 (opening Friday am).

·         Hwy. 1 @ Rocky Creek has one-way has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7.

·         Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork.

Highway 1/Salinas River Bridge and Sand Dunes Drive: Jan. 9 – Jan. 10

·         Caltrans emergency striping project will close alternating lanes on Highway 1 in both directions

·         Work hours are from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, January 9, and Thursday, January 10.

·         Motorists can expect 15-minute delays.

Highway 1 @ Fremont:  Jan. 7 – Jan. 11

·         Night work on Hwy 1 at Fremont St. will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Monday, January 7, to Friday, January 11

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

·         Crews will be working on the guardrail.

Highway 1 from Trafton Road to Airport Blvd: Jan 7 – Jan 11

• Daytime work on Hwy 1, between Trafton Road and Airport Blvd., will close lanes in both directions between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

 Highway 68 @ Highway 1 (East):  Jan. 6 – Jan. 11

·         Night work on westbound Hwy 68 between Griffin St. and John St. will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. from Sunday, January 6, to Friday, January 11.

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 68 between Griffin St. and John St.: Jan. 6 – Jan. 11

·         Night work on Hwy 68 in Salinas, between Griffin St. and John St. will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Sunday, January 6, to Friday, January 11.

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

San Juan Road Project: Jan. 7 – Jan. 10

·         Night work from Monday, January 7, through Thursday, January 10, will have crews working along Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road and Rocks Rd.

o    Work hours are 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

o    Motorists can expect delays of up to 5 minutes.

San Juan Road Project – PG&E work: Jan. 10

·         PGE will be swapping some power lines next Thursday, January 10th, from one side of San Juan Road to the other.

·         They are going to have traffic control on San Juan Road and will have to detour people from the southbound 101 exit at San Juan Road to Dunbarton for some of this work.

·         The closure hours will be between 8am and 4pm.

Prunedale Improvement Project – Crazy Horse Canyon Rd: Jan 7 – Jan 11

• Night work on Hwy 101 between Crazy Horse Canyon Road and echo Valley Road will close lanes in each direction between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, January 7, to Friday, January 11.
