Road and lane closures for Jan. 13 - 20

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, January 13, through Sunday, January 20, 2013– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project:  Jan. 7 – Jan. 11

·         Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, Jan. 14, through Friday, Jan. 18. 

·         Overnight closures continue from Sunday, Jan. 13 through Thursday, Jan. 17 (opening Friday am).

·         Hwy. 1 @ Rocky Creek has one-way has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7.

·         Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork.

Highway 1 @ Fremont:  Jan. 13 – Jan. 18

·         Night work on Hwy 1 at Fremont St. will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Sunday, January 13, to Friday, January 18.

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

·         Crews will be working on the guardrail.

Highway 1 from Trafton Road to Airport Blvd: Jan 14 – Jan 17

• Daytime work on Hwy 1, between Trafton Road and Airport Blvd., will close lanes in both directions between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

Highway 68 @ Highway 1 (East):  Jan. 13 – Jan. 18

·         Night work on Hwy 68 at Hwy 1 (east) will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. from Sunday, January 13, to Friday, January 18.

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

·         Crews will be working on the guardrail.

Highway 101 near East Market St.: Jan. 13 – Jan. 18

·         Night work on the Hwy 101 off ramp at East Market St. in Salinas, will result in closures between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Sunday, January 13, to Friday, January 18.

·         Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Prunedale Improvement Project  Location 2: Jan 14 – Jan 18

• Night work on Hwy 101 near Blackie Road, Pesante Road and Reese Circle will close lanes in each direction between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, January 14, to Friday, January 18.
• Contractor will be placing temporary guardrail in the median of Highway 101, preventing traffic on both north and south bound Highway 101 from making left turns at Blackie Road, Pesante Road, and Reese Circle.

Prunedale Improvement Project  Location 4: Jan 14 – Jan 18

• Night work on Hwy 101 between Mallory Canyon Road and Echo Valley Road will close lanes in each direction between 8:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. from Monday, January 14, to Friday, January 18.
• Contractor will be removing temporary guardrail.

Prunedale Improvement Project – Crazy Horse Canyon Road: Jan 14 – Jan 18

• Night work on Hwy 101 between Crazy Horse Canyon Road and Echo Valley Road will close lanes in each direction between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, January 14, to Friday, January 18.

Prunedale Improvement Project – Crazy Horse Canyon Road: Jan 15

·         Daytime work on the Prunedale Improvement Project will temporarily close the US 101 northbound deceleration lane to Crazy Horse Canyon Road on Tuesday, January 15, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

·         There is a detour available.

·         This temporary closure is to allow crews to safely pour concrete for the new overpass. This closure will be cancelled in the case of rain.

·         During this closure:

o    Emergency responders will be able to use the Crazy Horse Canyon exit.

o    All other traffic will access Crazy Horse Canyon Rd. via the following detour:

§  Exit Hwy 101 at Boronda Rd.

§  Head east on Boronda Rd. to San Juan Grade Road.

§  Turn left on San Juan Grade Road and follow it to Crazy Horse Canyon Road.

§  Turn left on Crazy Horse Canyon Road.

San Juan Road Project: Jan. 14 – Jan. 18

·         Night work from Monday, January 14, through Friday, January 18, will have crews working along Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road and Rocks Rd.

o    Work hours are 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• Daytime work from Monday, January 14, through Thursday, January 17, will have crews working along Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road and San Juan Road.
• Work hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
