Salinas: East Alisal Street/Skyway Boulevard
Roundabout Project
All
underground work has been completed.
Demolition for splitter island and bio-swales is 90% complete, and the
contractor, Anderson Pacific Engineering of Santa Clara, has started
reconstruction work (a 2+ week effort).
The project is on schedule for operational completion by the California
International Airshow in Salinas (September 26 and 27). Traffic detours around
the intersection are in effect.
Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays.
Salinas: Sanborn Road Waterline Project:
Fairview Avenue – Eucalyptus Drive
In
a continuing effort to improve water distribution to its customers (with
sufficient pressure and quantity), California Water Service Company is undertaking
several water main upgrades within the Salinas city limits. One of the
more significant upgrades is the upcoming installation of a 12” water main
within Sanborn Road that will extend from Fairview Avenue to Eucalyptus Drive
(roughly 1.1 miles long), constructed in phases beginning at Fairview, and
ending at Eucalyptus. Traffic controls for lane closures will be in effect from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. To lessen the impact on traffic work in the
intersections of John Street, E. Alisal street and E. Market Street will be
done at night.
Motorists
are encouraged to use alternate routes to destinations or travel outside of the
construction times. Motorists should expect delays along the Sanborn Road
corridor in the vicinity of work during construction. The contractor for
the project is West Valley Construction Company. They have assured Cal water
that all driveways to businesses in the area will remain open during
construction. California Water Service apologizes for any inconvenience this
project may cause and wants to thank the public for their patience during the
construction of this project.
