ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES JUNE 28 - JULY 5

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, June 28 through Sunday, July 5, 2015 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1 – Gorda to Ragged Point: June 29 – July 2

• A major retaining wall construction project will result in daytime traffic control and full night time closures of Highway 1 between Gorda and Ragged Point from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Night work will take place Sunday nights through Friday mornings.
• Motorists traveling north/south of these closures are advised to reach their destinations before 10 p.m.
• All local businesses along the coast will remain open during the roadwork.  
• Note: there will not be an overnight closure Thursday night, July 2, due to the 4th of July holiday. 
• Motorists should expect daytime delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 – Big Sur Coast: June 29 – July 2

• Daytime mowing along Highway 1 between the Lime Creek Bridge and Bixby Creek Bridge from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 – Big Sur: June 29 – July 2

• Daytime drainage work along Highway 1 between the Ventana entrance and the Post Office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

PG&E Gas Line Replacement Project – Highway 68: June 28 – July 2

• Gas line replacement work will result in night time lane closures along eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Olmsted Road and San Benancio Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes

Highway 101 – Greenfield: June 29 – July 2

• Daytime pavement work along northbound and southbound Highway 101 at Espinosa Road.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – San Juan Road Interchange Project: June 28 – July 2

• Night time construction work along southbound and northbound Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road (South) and Cannon Road/Rocks Road from 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
• The southbound and northbound San Juan Road Interchange ramps will be subject to closure.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 183 – Salinas to Castroville: July 1

• Daytime chip seal work along Highway 183 between San Jon Road and the Espinosa Slough Bridge from 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• Traffic control consists of one-way reversing traffic control with flagging
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

South Salinas: Westbound Blanco Road Closure

• Industrial wastewater pipe installation will result in the all-day closure of westbound Blanco Road between Blanco Circle and La Mesa Way.
• Eastbound Blanco Road will be subject to daytime lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Detour signs will be in place to help direct motorists.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.

River Road Overlay Project

• Daytime pavement work along River Road between Parker Road and Chualar River Road from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
• The project is currently scheduled for completion by August 31.
• Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
