The Monterey County Resource Management Agency - Public
Works announces that construction work for the Castroville Boulevard Overlay
Project between State Route 156 and San Miguel Canyon Road will start June 23, 2014. The project, which is
expected to last three months, will consist of grinding and overlying existing
pavement.
When in full swing, the project’s construction activities
will require temporary traffic control measure to be implemented, including
lane closures. Local residents, school buses, and emergency vehicles will
continue to have access to Castroville Boulevard during the construction
period. However, motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route,
such as State Route 156, during the construction period.
The Castroville Boulevard overlay
project has a construction cost of $1,281,421, and is funded by Transient
Occupancy Tax revenue.
The Don Chapin Company, from Salinas, California, was
awarded the construction contract for this project.
