ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES FOR Apr 6 - APR 13

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, April 6, through Sunday, April 13, 2014 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1 – Big Sur:  Apr. 8 – Apr. 11

• Daytime drainage work and vegetation spraying on Highway 1 between Lime Creek Bridge and Garrapata Creek Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 – Carmel Highlands:  Apr. 8 – Apr. 10

• Daytime shoulder, drainage, and pavement work on southbound Highway 1 between Arroyo Del Mar and Spindrift Road (North) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Nighttime striping at Arroyo Del Mar from 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 to 6 a.m. Thursday, April 10.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 and 68 – Monterey to Pajaro:  Apr. 9 – Apr. 11

• Night time striping work on 6 bridges along Highway 1 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• The locations are:
• Highway 68 at the Fairground Rd. Overcrossing in Monterey
• Southbound Highway 1 at Munras Ave. in Monterey
• Northbound Highway 1  onramp  at the Fremont St. in Monterey
• Southbound Highway 1 at the Lake Drive Overcrossing in Marina
• Southbound Highway 1 at the Lapis Spur overcrossing between Marina and Castroville
• Southbound Highway 1 at the Pajaro River bridge near Watsonville
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 68 – Monterey:  Sewer Repair Project from Mar. 10 – Apr. 18

• Daytime shoulder work on westbound Highway 68 from Highway 218 (Canyon Del Rey Boulevard) to the Calvary Chapel driveway will close the westbound shoulder between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
• Intermittent night work will also close a westbound lane between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
• Single lane traffic controls will be in effect during these night hours.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 68 – Salinas:  Apr. 7 – 8  

• Daytime pavement repair on Highway 68 / South Main Street from San Joaquin Street to San Miguel Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.

Highway 101 – Gonzales and Soledad:  Apr. 7 – Apr. 11

• Daytime median barrier work on Highway 101 from La Gloria Road to Arroyo Seco Road will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – Chualar:  Apr. 9 – Apr. 10

• Daytime shoulder work on northbound Highway 101 between Potter Road and Main Street/Chualar Street from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – Salinas:  Apr. 8 – Apr. 11

• Daytime sweeping and shoulder work on Highway 101 between Gould Road and the Little Bear Creek Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes

Highway 101 – Prunedale Improvement Project: Apr. 6 – Apr. 11

• Nighttime work will result in alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Vierra Canyon Road and Crazy Horse Canyon Road from 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 – San Juan Road Interchange: Apr. 7 – Apr. 11

• Night work on Highway 101 will cause alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road and Rocks / Cannon Road from 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
