LEFT-TURN ACCESS TO MESSICK ROAD AND TUSTIN ROAD ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 101 TO REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THE NEW CRAZY HORSE/ECHO VALLEY INTERCHANGE IS FULLY OPERATIONAL

MONTEREY COUNTY – Caltrans officials announced today that the upcoming planned closure of existing left-turn access to Messick Road and Tustin Road from U.S. Highway 101 has been postponed

In order to allow local residents the best available traffic circulation during construction, Caltrans and its contractor Granite Construction will not close the left turn access until the Crazy Horse Canyon Road/Echo Valley Road Interchange is open to traffic.

Caltrans anticipates that the Crazy Horse/Echo Valley Interchange will be fully operational this fall, as part of the ongoing Prunedale Improvement Project (PIP).  Additional news releases will announce any future planned closures of existing left-turn access to Messick Road and Tustin Road from Route 101.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over or slow down when driving through highway work zones.

For lane closure information on this project and for traffic updates on other Caltrans projects in Monterey County, residents can call the District 5 toll free number at 1-831-423-0396 or can visit our website at http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/paffairs/release.htm#mon.
