Road and lane Closures June 16 - June 23

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, June 16, through Sunday, June 23, 2013 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1/Rocky Creek Viaduct Project:  June 17  – June 21

• Daytime roadwork on Highway 1 continues next week from 7 am to 5 pm Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21.
• There WILL be NIGHT ROADWORK starting Sunday, June 16 through Thursday, June 20 (Friday 7am) from 9 pm to 7 am.
• There will be NO OVERNIGHT FULL closures next week.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 at Rocky Creek has one-way signalized traffic control 24/7. Traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time during daytime roadwork.

Highway 1 through Big Sur: June 18 – June 20

• Day time shoulder work and vegetation spaying continues along the Big Sur coast between Lime Creek Bridge and Garrapata Creek Bridge.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 1 Pavement Work through Big Sur: June 18 – June 20

• Caltrans will conduct pavement and guardrail work from the Little Sur River Bridge to Hurricane Point between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 68 Sweeping:  June 18 and June 20

• Daytime sweeping on Highway 68 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.

Highway 68 Bridge Work:  June 16 - June 21

• Nighttime work on El Toro Creek Bridge from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 Gonzales:  June 17 – June 21

• Daytime work on Highway 101, from Alta St/Old Stage Rd to La Gloria Rd, will result in alternating lane closures—northbound and southbound—between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Crews will be sealing cracked pavement.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 101 Salinas:  June 16 – June 21

• Nighttime bridge work on Highway 101, from Alisal Rd to East Market St will result in alternating lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Prunedale Improvement Project Ralph Lane - Pesante Road: June 17 – June 21

• Night work on Highway 101, between Ralph Ln and at Pesante Rd, will result in alternating lane closures (as needed) between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

San Juan Road Interchange Traffic Stop: June 18

·       The CHP will temporarily stop traffic on Highway 101 to allow crews to move equipment across the highway.

·       The stoppage will occur between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

·        Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Highway 183 at Tembladero Bridge:  June 16 - 21

• Nighttime bridge work on Highway 183 Tembladero Bridge will result in alternating lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
• Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.

Blackie Road Safety Improvement Project: June 17 – June 21

·        Roadway construction continues between Borromeo Drive to approximately one mile west of Borromeo Drive going to Castroville.

·        Blackie Road will be open to emergency vehicles, school buses, local residents and patrons of local businesses.

·        Motorists can expect delays of approximately 30 minutes.
