ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 12 - JUNE 18

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, June 12, to Saturday, June 18:

Prunedale Improvement Project: June 12 – June 18

·         On Sunday, June 12, PG&E will close Hwy 101 at Mallory Canyon at 9 a.m. for approximately 5 minutes. This brief closure is to allow crews to safely remove some overhead wires.
·         On Monday, June 13, the acceleration lane on southbound HWY 101 near Moro Rd will be closed to traffic; this is to allow PG&E to remove and replace some utility poles.

·         PG&E crews will be working on an existing gas main on San Miguel Canyon Rd. between June 13 and June 17. This will not result in any closures, but the lane will be limited to 10’.

·         On Hwy 101 Caltrans will close the following, between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., June 13 – June 17:
o    One Northbound lane, between Russell/Espinosa and Ralph Ln.
o    One Southbound lane, between Ralph Ln. and Russell/Espinosa
o    One Northbound lane, between San Miguel Canyon Rd and Tustin Rd.
o    One Southbound lane, between Tustin Rd and San Miguel Canyon Rd.
o    The Northbound San Miguel Canyon off-ramp
o    The Southbound San Miguel Canyon off ramp

Around the lane closures near Russell/Espinosa crews will be excavating dirt to create a fill for the future alignment of HWY 101 and bridge at the new Sala Rd. They will also be removing and installing various underground stormwater systems along the new highway alignment.

The closures at San Miguel Canyon Rd. are to allow crews to safely work on the San Miguel Canyon Overcrossing; the work will include pile driving, and delivery of supplies (rebar, forms, and braces) to the site.

  • California Water Services Company will be finishing up their work relocating a water main – this will result in intermittent temporary lane closures on Harrison Rd. June 13 – 15.
