BRIEF FULL CLOSURE OF US 101 AT CRAZY HORSE CANYON SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT!

Monday night/Tuesday morning, Oct. 15/16, Caltrans will close U.S. Highway 101 in both directions for 45-60 minutes at Crazy Horse Road in Prunedale (Monterey County) to remove a temporary structure over the roadway as part of the $80 million STIP-funded Prunedale Improvement Project (PIP).

The PIP, which is upgrading nine miles from highway to freeway status by constructing new interchanges and overpasses, is the largest construction project in Caltrans District 5.

The closure will occur between midnight and 4 am and traffic will be held to ensure safety until removal is done. CHP will be on site and electronic message signs are posted.

A traffic advisory was issued last week and a reminder sent out today. This operation was originally scheduled for Oct. 11/12 but was postponed due to inclement weather.
