ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES APRIL 19 - APRIL 26



Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, April 19 through Sunday, April 26, 2015 – newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Highway 1 – Big Sur Coast: April 20 – April 24
  • Daytime roadwork at multiple locations along Highway 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The locations are:
    • Torre Canyon Bridge to Grimes Canyon for drainage work.
    • Castro Canyon Bridge for bridge inspection.
    • Ventana Entrance to the Post Office for drainage work.
  • Motorists can expect delays of approximately 10 minutes
PG&E Gas Line Replacement Project – Highway 68: April 20 – April 25
  • Gas line replacement work will result in night time lane closures along eastbound and westbound Highway 68 between Olmsted Road and San Benancio Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Motorists can expect delays of approximately 15 minutes
Highway 68/South Main Street – Salinas: April 20 – April 24
  • Daytime utility work along eastbound South Main Street between Romie Lane and Oak Street/Geil Street from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Motorists should expect delays of approximately 5 minutes.
Highway 101 – Greenfield to Soledad: April 19 – April 24
  • Daytime and night time median barrier and ramp work along Highway 101 between Espinosa Road and Arroyo Seco Road.
  • Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Highway 101 – San Juan Road Interchange Project: April 19 – April 24
  • Night time paving along southbound Highway 101 between Dunbarton Road (South) and Cannon Road/Rocks Road from 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
  • The southbound San Juan Road exit will be subject to closure from 7:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
    • Motorists should detour to Crazy Horse Canyon Road.
  • Motorists should expect delays of approximately 10 minutes.
Abbott Street Water Line Replacement Project
  • Waterline installation along the Abbott Street/Harkins Road/Dayton Street corridor may result in lane closures and traffic control.
  • Motorists can expect delays of approximately 5 minutes
