ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR MAR 25 - APRIL 1

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, March 25, through Sunday, April 1, 2012– newest information is in red.

Prunedale Improvement Project: March 26 – March 30
·    Night work on Hwy 101 (between Moro Rd. and Crazy Horse Canyon) will close the Number 2 lane between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 5:30a.m. from Monday, March 26, through Thursday, March 29.
o   Crews will be doing shoulder work.
 
Highway 156: March 28 – March 29
·   Daytime work on Highway 156, from Hwy 1 to Hwy 183, will close one lane between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28.

·   Daytime work on Highway 156, between the southbound junction at Hwy 101 and Vierra Cyn. Rd., will close one lane between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29.
o    Motorists can expect delays of up to 5 minutes.

Highway 68: March 26 – March 29
·   Utility work on Highway 68 in downtown Salinas – between Monterey St. and Pajaro St., and between Orange Dr. and Katherine Ave. – will close one lane from Monday, March 26, through Thursday, March 29, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
o    Motorists can expect delays of up to 5 minutes.

Highway 1 Barrier Improvements: November 2011 – March 2012
·   A 14-mile project to install metal beam guardrail and make concrete barrier improvements along Hwy. 1 from Trafton Road in Monterey County to just north of 41st Avenue in Santa Cruz.
o   Project will result in overnight alternating lane closures Mondays through Fridays from 9 pm to 6 am.
o   Minimal delays are anticipated.
o   Roadwork is expected to be completed by March 2012, weather permitting.

Highway 68: March 2012
·   Monterey County Public Works continues its work along HWY 68 and San Benancio, which will go on through March 2012. This work is being done during the day; drivers should be alert. Most work will be done behind the concrete barriers that are set up, but minor delays can be expected.

Please drive safely and exercise caution in the construction zones.
