Road and lane closures for April 29 - May 6


Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, April 29, through Sunday, May 6, 2012– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.


Airport Blvd. Project: April 30 – May 4
·         The southbound Hwy 101 on ramp at Airport Blvd. will be subject to closure from 8:30 am to 3 pm to reconstruct guardrail next Monday through Friday, April 30 – May 4. 
o    Motorists will be detoured to Terven Ave. to Sanborn Rd. to access the southbound on ramp.

 Highway 68: April 22 – May 2012
·         Daytime work along HWY 68 and San Benancio continues; this work will go on through May 2012. Drivers should be alert. Most work will be done behind the concrete barriers that are set up, but minor delays can be expected.

Pipeline Replacement Project: April – May 2012
·         PG&E will be replacing a pipe along San Juan Road, between Murphy Road and San Miguel Canyon Road.
o    Work hours will be between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
o    Work days will be Monday through Saturday
o    This work will result in some lane closures and traffic delays.
o    The road will be open at night.

Hwy 1/Salinas Road Project: Temporary Closure May 9
·         Salinas Road access to Highway 1 will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED IN BOTH
DIRECTIONS BEGINNING MAY 9.
o    The closure is expected to last one week.
o    During the closure crews will be constructing the connections to
the new overpass.
o    Businesses along Salinas Road will remain open during the closure.

·         This means traffic on HWY 1 will not have access to Salinas Road
and will have to use the posted Hwy 129 Detour to access Salinas Road.

o    BOTH north and southbound HWY 1 traffic will access Salinas Rd. by:
§  Exiting at Route 129 (Riverside Dr.),
§  Following Riverside Dr. to Porter Dr.,
§  Turning right on Porter Dr.,
§  Turning right on Salinas Rd.

·         Hwy 129 Detour to access Salinas Road will be clearly marked with
detour signs.

Road and lane closures for April 22 - 28


Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, April 22, through Sunday, April 29, 2012– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Prunedale Improvement Project: April 22 – April 29
·         Night work on southbound Hwy 101 (between Echo Valley Rd. and Mallory Canyon Rd.) will close the Number 2 lane between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, April 23, through Tuesday, April 24.
o    Crews will be doing shoulder work.
o    Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

·         Granite Construction will continue work on Harrison Rd., Main St, and Russell Rd. (in North Salinas) to install new drainage systems, new signals at Main and Russell, new signals at Harrison and Sala, and rebuild the entire roadway.
-          Motorists are advised that Harrison Road/Main St./Russell Rd. will be dirt and gravel roads through August.

Airport Blvd. Interchange Project: April 22 – April 28
·         The SB Hwy 101 on ramp will be subject to closure from 8:30 am to 3 pm to reconstruct guardrail from Monday, Aprl 23, through Friday, April 27. 
o    Motorists will be detoured to Terven Ave. to Sanborn Rd. to access the SB on ramp. 

·         Minor grading work will be performed at the intersection of Moffett St and Airport Blvd. next Tuesday, April 24, through Friday, April 28; between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This work will require traffic shifts and/or a lane closure.

Highway 68: April 22 – May 2012
·         Monterey County Public Works will have night time lane closures on Hwy 68 beginning on Sunday, April 22, through Thursday, April 26, between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
o    Motorists may experience some delays.

·         Daytime work along HWY 68 and San Benancio continues; this work will go on through May 2012. Drivers should be alert. Most work will be done behind the concrete barriers that are set up, but minor delays can be expected.

ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR APR 15 - 22

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, April 15, through Sunday, April 22, 2012– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

·    On Monday, April 16, 2012, Granite Construction will begin excavating Harrison 
Rd., Main St, and Russell Rd. (in North Salinas) to install new drainage systems, new signals at Main and Russell, new signals at Harrison and Sala, and rebuild the entire roadway.
-    Motorists are advised that Harrison Road/Main St./Russell Rd. will be dirt and gravel roads through August.

·    Night work on northbound Hwy 101 (between Moro Road Rd. and Crazy Horse Canyon Rd.) will close the Number 2 lane between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 5:30a.m. from Monday, April 16, through Thursday, April 19.
o   Crews will be doing shoulder work.
o   Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

Highway 101 between Airport Blvd. and San Benito County Line: April 16 – April 19
·    Caltrans will have sweepers operating along Hwy 101 between Airport Blvd. and the San Benito County Line from April 16 through April 19, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
o    Motorists may experience delays of up to 10 minutes


Highway 68: April 18 – May 2012
·    Nightwork on Hwy 68, between Laguna Place and Quail Ridge Lane, will result in one-way lane closures between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19.
o    Motorists may experience delays of up to 5 minutes

·    Monterey County Public Works continues its work along HWY 68 and San Benancio, which will go on through May 2012. This work is being done during the day; drivers should be alert. Most work will be done behind the concrete barriers that are set up, but minor delays can be expected.

Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for the areas between Salinas and North Monterey County from Sunday, April 8, through Sunday, April 15, 2012– newest information is in red. Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Prunedale Improvement Project: April 9 – April 12
·         Night work on northbound Hwy 101 (between Mallory Canyon Rd. and Echo Valley Rd.) will close the Number 2 lane between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 5:30a.m. from Monday, April 9, through Thursday, April 12.
o   Crews will be doing shoulder work.
o   Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

·         Night work on northbound and southbound Hwy 101 (between Reese Circle and Pesante Rd.) will close the Number 2 lanes between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday, April 9, through Thursday, April 12.
o    Crews will be clearing and paving slopes.
o    Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

·         Night work on northbound Hwy 101 (between Little Bear Creek Bridge and Ralph Lane) will close alternating lanes on Monday, April 9, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
o    Crews will be restriping the lanes.

·         Night work on northbound AND southbound Hwy 101 (near Mallory Canyon Road) will close alternating lanes on Monday, April 9, from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
o    Crews will be restriping the lanes.

 IMPORTANT PIP UPDATE
